The Yazing Community Now Has Its Own BBS
Yazing members now have a place to hang out together: the Yazing BBS at echobbs.com/b/yazing. It’s free, it runs right in your browser, and it’s built just for our community.
We opened the doors quietly back in June, and a handful of members have already found it, posted on the one-liner wall, and started racking up high scores. Now it’s time for a proper introduction.
If you’ve ever wanted to swap tips with other Yazing shoppers, hear about payouts the moment they go out, or just play a quick game on your lunch break, this is the spot.
Wait, what’s a BBS?
One of our members asked exactly that on the one-liner wall, so you’re in good company.
A BBS, or bulletin board system, is how people got together online before the web took off. In the 1980s and early ’90s you’d dial into a board with your modem, read the message boards, send private mail, play a few turns of a game, and log off so the next person could call in. Each board was run by one person, the sysop, and had its own personality.
The Yazing BBS brings that classic experience to the modern web, no modem required. It’s hosted on EchoBBS, so all you need is a browser.
What you’ll find on the Yazing BBS
- Announcements. Payout news and Yazing updates show up right in the lobby. When June payouts went out, members saw it here first.
- Message boards. Ask questions, share your best cashback finds, and trade tips with other members.
- Private email. Send a note to another member by their handle.
- The one-liner wall. Leave a quick hello for everyone who calls after you.
- Bulletins. A handy Yazing Links & Resources page lives here, with more to come.
- Daily games. Nine door games, each with a set number of turns per day, so there’s always a reason to check back tomorrow.
The games
| Game | What it is | Daily limit |
|---|---|---|
| Sysop’s Cypher | A daily word puzzle in the spirit of Wordle | 1 scored run per difficulty mode |
| Dungeon of Yendor | Ten floors, one try, find the amulet | 1 descent |
| Legend of the Red Dragon | The classic: fight in the forest, level up, slay the dragon | 10 turns |
| TradeWars 2002 | Jump between star sectors and trade for profit | 50 turns |
| Global War | Risk-style world domination | 3 turns |
| Hangman | One puzzle, eight wrong guesses | 1 puzzle |
| Daily Lottery | Pick a number from 0 to 99, drawn at midnight UTC | 5 tickets |
| One-Armed Bandit | Spin the slots with in-game credits | 20 spins |
There’s one more on the full games list for the old-school crowd. Every game has a leaderboard, and the games only use in-game credits, never real money.
The leaderboards are still wide open. Think you can claim the top spot?
Why a BBS for Yazing?
Yazing has always been about members helping each other earn more. The best tips usually come from other shoppers and creators, not from us. But until now there wasn’t a good place for those conversations to happen.
We could have opened yet another social group. Instead we wanted something that feels like a clubhouse: a space that belongs to this community, with no ads, no algorithm deciding what you see, and no endless feed to scroll. You stop by, catch up, maybe play a round, and get on with your day.
It’s also a lot of fun. And honestly, a community that plays together tends to stick together.
How to join
- Go to echobbs.com/b/yazing.
- Click New caller, or just press the N key. Everything on a BBS has a one-key shortcut, shown in brackets like [N].
- Pick a handle. That’s the name other members will see, so have some fun with it.
- Once you’re in, press M for messages, D for doors (the games), or E for email.
The board works on your phone or computer, and there’s nothing to download.
When you get in, say hi on the one-liner wall. We’d love to see a lot of new handles in the caller log.
See you on the board,
The Yazing Team
